Why do people always compare those two. I mean it’s like comparing Eddy Van Halen to Carlos Santana. I mean they are both fantastic at what they do, and yet neither one really appeals to me. I mean in a prick waving contest Hendrix would win hands down. I mean the guy played the guitar behind his back while he was high as a fucking kite! I mean that’s gotta count for something.
Well first you need a personality, not just the ability to sing mad karaoke. I am going to go out on a limb and say that you have once since you are pretty much single handedly supporting my ask-a-smartass section with a plethora of questions (yep, that’s right… I log ip addresses Mr. mad.verizon.dsl). So start by going to some casting website. I found one called InstantCast Where they say they can get you on screen in 30 days for Reality TV (including American Idol).
Next you better be just that damn good, because you will need to drop your entire life to go to these casting calls since they aren’t around Wisconsin very often.
Next, you might need to sleep with a few key casting people to make sure you get picked. This part shouldn’t be too difficult, but will ensure that enough guilt goes around that you will make it to the top.
At this point, it becomes a matter of talent. You will either be on American Idol, or you will have ended up on some other Reality TV show. Either way it’s out of my hands at this point.
Rap for the most part sucks, and Hip-hop for the most part is good. To understand the difference you just need to listen to "music" from both. I’m sure you can find lots of rap, but a good hip hop example would be Black Eyed Peas, or Jurassic 5. Also Rap tends to lean towards 40’s and bitches, and hip hop tends to lean towards story and soul.
I have never heard of Brokeback Mountain, so I assume you will win since it’s always the most artsy-fartsy (technical term) movies that actually win Oscar’s.
TheSmartass has a couple future betting suggestions for you:
1) Don’t bet unless it’s a sure thing, if you might loose and cannot bribe somebody don’t bet.
2) If you must still bet, make the bet something you both want like “i’ll bet you dinner at Outback Steakhouse”. This works great because no matter who wins, you both get to go out for a great meal!
