Yes, I combined the questions, so what. Back in the day I used to be able to bypass my school security by simply figuring out the IP address of the site I wanted to get to and going to that instead. Most of the time the big popular sites have static IP addresses. You can type Run > cmd > ping myspace.com > it will tell you their ip, try to browse to that.

Now, some places have gotten smarter, the new prevention systems look for certain keywords on the page, which puts you SOL.

Now you can normally bypass most restricted site security by using a proxy server or a translation page. Those will also be blocked if your system administrator knows of them. They will start with the most popular ones and the little ones will go unnoticed though.

A good source is: all-nettools.com. You can go there and click on privacy and there is a bunch of different choices.

Again, last but not least, use a translation service. Tell Google or Altavista to translate the url. Since it’s going through google, it tends to be ok…

There is no guarantee these will work. If it’s school or somewhere that you don’t have an assigned computer you can use my technique to gain “system” access to your pc, and there by close all of the restrictive services and change your DNS to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 to be able to browse to everything else, though I am not condoning this method.

Below is a list of sites that might work to help you unblock sites.

Heh… I need to know ‘hoe’ to do more things myself…

Anywho, I used to use a fade in/out script actually enjoyed my fading image. I think it’s still on the old design pages, anywho: quick answer: absolute position 2 images on top of each other, set one to be totally transparent, and the other one to be totally opaque.  then set a timer to make one keep changing it’s opacity down and then the other one to appear as it’s disappearing.

Oh you want an actual script? This is the one I used: Javascript Blend Trans Do you know I still get a lot of links from that page, despite the fact that I only made 1 post in 2004 listing myself as an example (which I was until this most current design).

Because it’s a pain in the ass to browse on a tiny ass little screen.  My site actually worked really great on my psp until I added the search engines to the bottom, they mucked it all up.  Otherwise I had the coolest wap site around since my entire site scales to your browser window and still shows the artwork etc..

I figure if you are browsing wap sites, you want pure information…. and for that purpose they are a success.

If you want better wap sites, design them yourself.
