Whoop, My Bad…(unabridged)
Saturday, May 14th, 2005 | Uncategorized
So today is cram day right… I can get all the things done and figured out for Mike’s wedding reception tomorrow, like the speech I am giving and wrapping up their present. Not to mention Josh’s “bachelor party” before that. You know if it weren’t for the last minute nothing would get done at all……………………………………………………………………..
Except there is one problem with the above logic. I am an IDIOT, who doesn’t have that much time.
Basically I decided it would be a lazy stay at home day, where I would erase my computer and reinstall everything, while it was reinstalling I decided to take a nap since I was tired… Seems logical… Only I was awaken by my phone with Marie calling to say that I was supposed to be at the reception so I could give that speech etc… ASAP, um I have that on my calendar for to morrow, right after josh’s bachelor party! Well my calendar was wrong. Now I live in Madison, not Janesville where this was, so I fly like a mofo on speed and do the whole S.S.S. (if you can’t figure it out don’t ask), tried to make my hair nice and throw on a tie and nice clothes very fast as well…
Had to run to the basement to dig up a box to put their present in, it will be more fun this way seeing as how they will not have to wait to unwrap it since I don’t have time to wrap it. Dive out of the house and fly as fast as I could down to Janesville… Catching fairly good luck I manage to go 85-90 the whole way while following other people… Nice and safe.
Get another call, HOW FAR ARE YOU? WE NEED YOU IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES.
Ok lucky for me I was only 2 mins away at that point. Of course then I needed to give the speech. Well I knew the first part, didn’t know the second part at all… So it was a good thing the first part made everybody laugh, and hopefully forget the crap I said after that.
I will say this, first wedding reception I have ever been to that served $4000 worth of pizza for all the courses. Needless to say I am not one for the stupid music that comes after dinner, there are normally only a couple stupid ones, but this dj only played slow songs and then stupid ones. I danced with Marie’s sister for a lot of those slow ones.
Somewhere along the line I decided I liked her. She was hot and said exactly what was on her mind. Of course she’s a catholic / military girl. Odd combo, but she was shipping out to Germany the very next day, and was staying with her father over night as soon as the reception was over. So I let it go. Of course this teaches me that I need to start working out more, as my self confidence is a lot lower than it used to be.
So I got a call from some people in Madison telling me to come over when the reception was done, but I decided I would rather stay over night in Fort so it’s easy to get to Josh’s “Bachelor party” tomorrow.
Except that I call over there and his fiance tells me that the bachelor party was tonight, and that they are probably at the church. Yes a church, hence the “”’s on “bachelor party”. So I drive down there and get there just as everybody is packing up their videogames (no I’m not kidding, it really was a bachelor party) and leaving the church.
So I say hi for a minute and offer to give Josh’s dad a ride home. I was the last to leave the church parking lot, and a minute later a cop pulls me over. Starts freaking out about what I was doing late at night at a church, and come on… What cop would believe that there was a bachelor party going on at a church, and the tv’s etc.. that everybody was hauling out were the entertainment.
It was probably convenient that Jim was with me to point out that it was his son’s party and that he is a bigshot at the little church.
Wow, long day… Tomorrow should be a breeze.
