Way to be a sucky day!

So last night I was up into the wee hours researching hardware / software hacks…. It sounds like a bunch of programming crap, but it’s not. I actually learned how to seriously improve the speed and performance of my internet connection, as well as fix firefox to work FAR quicker and no longer give me the connection problems with configs in the hidden about:config page.
Well that kept me up till 3:30 or so right, at about that time I said OH SHIT, I have to get up at 7 am to go to court today.
Now I am extremely good at talking my way out of traffic tickets, 9 times out of 10 I never get the ticket, but the 10th I can normally talk my way out of it or get it reduced by going to court.
See this ticket is bullshit, I was not pulled over because it was a ticket I got for passing a school bus that was being driven by an off duty cop. I have probably wrote this sad and angry story about how they went about figuring out that it was me on a previous post a month or so ago, so I will simply say that the stop sign did NOT come out until I was half way past the bus.
So even If I got the ticket in a stupid way I figured I could get it dropped or reduced. All morning I watched as the DA reduced everybody’s ticket before me. When I got up there I was very respectful though I read officer “wife beaters” 1 page report while the DA read it.
The officer blatantly lied in this report several times, especially when he said he put on his lights 100 feet prior to stop, and stuck out his sign 20 feet to stopping. Yes, this is a 30+ year asshole cop. So the DA decided to believe him, and said well if his stop sign was out that far before he stopped and you went around him you were obviously trying to violate the law and you could of killed a child!!!!!!
WHATACROCKOFSHIT! He didn’t listen to me at all and said he would not even reduce the ticket. He told me that I was welcome to go to a jury trial, to which I asked if I would be told the same thing, that I was a liar who recklessly attempted to put children’s lives at risk. He said “basically, yes”.
Wow, so I had to suck up a $305 fine for a violation I didn’t commit, and one that I would not have even been charged with if it were not for the police officer calling and harassing my father for information (see prior post somewhere).
There was really not anything special about the afternoon, so I will skip to the evening. Now my car has been leaking oil…. AGAIN… It’s always a different part that starts leaking, but this time it has actually been spraying, which is not cool, so I needed to buy a new oil pressure sensor. I had been told about a good deal at Farm/Fleet and stopped in and paid $13 to get that part as well as a gauge that tells my oil pressure.
Now I know people who have paid a couple hundred dollars for the oil pressure gauge, but as far as I can see it is a seriously generic part for every single car that uses it.
So I spent a long part of the day at my mechanic’s working on installing it, I had this guy Mike help me install it, the electronics of it should have been relatively simple and the part just screws in behind the engine so no big deal.
Until we turn on the car and the gauge does not work, so we screw with it, a lot and discover that if we mess with the part under the hood enough the oil pressure goes from 0 to like 180 and just bounces around…. Once or twice it stayed at the correct number around 25, but we could not get this crappy thing to stay there.
There were many attempts but it never panned out. Technically my spraying oil leak should be fixed, but I don’t want an inferior part that does not do what it is supposed to on my car, so tomorrow I have to remove it and return it… grr…
Heh, you should see the white pants I was wearing today. I definatly look like some up-town mechanic as I am going home with almost totally black pants.
I talked to my roommate tonight and apparently 2 of my wheels that I have been waiting on for a month have been powder coated. Why only 2? Well apparently since they “didn’t need to be sand blasted” when she painted them they didn’t turn out quite right. The points where the clear coating had worn thin look great and the rest is “textured”.
I am going to go look at the 2 painted wheels tomorrow morning to see how shitty they are, of course I wanted it to look like a million bucks, but I am so sick of waiting that If it looks good from a distance I might just go with em.
What a long fucking day! At least there is always the hottub to come home to!
