The Bday

So, another year older, well actually that’s bullshit… I am only another day older than I was yesterday…. Semantics aside today is the day they set aside for people to make an ass of themselves with friends.

Before I did that, I first sold my car. Yep, no more prelude ;( Then again no more oil leaks! The new car is a 98 Chevy Lumina. Not stick shift, not lowered, not a tuner boy car. Oh well, it works, and since I will not be beating on this car nearly as much it will probably last much longer.

To ring in the new car I was sad to loose my mp3 cd player, however my sadness didn’t last since I now had a little bit of money to burn.

Being still just an irresponsible 20 something, I went out and bought a new car stereo that plays mp3’s….. off of dvd’s. With friends help we quickly wired it up to have extra inputs for the xm satellite receiver and the ipod video….

Hmm, yes I suppose that was the really irresponsible part. I bought an ipod video, my first thought was that I knew people looking for them that would of just bought it from me for slightly more than I did, but I was kind of hooked when I played with it.

At first I was annoyed that it wouldn’t hold my directory structure, I mean I keep things in order and perfectly organized on my hard drive, why does the mp3 player have to go and fuck with a system that already works. However at this point I have decided that I don’t mind it so much. It is a far superior mp3 player to what I had, and I have decided to keep it.

Oh well, guess that’s all the fun money I can spend, everything else will go towards bills and future bills, I will however be glad to be saving money on gas since I will no longer be buying premium, and am actually ahead on my finances now and will have my debt paid off within a few months.

I would tell you about the rest of the night, but basically it was just lots of drunken debotchery, to which I was fortunate enough to have a designated driver for. I do so love the bars in Madison now, having no smoky smell! That being said we ended the night in a super smoky bar in Deforest where I saw a couple people I have not seen in a long time.

By that point however I was really trashed and in no mood to hold conversations and made it clear to my friends that I wanted to go.

All in all, I would say this was one of the best birthday’s ever since I got rid of some problems, and got new toys all at the same time.
