Just Smile and Nod…

4WD

June26

Man, I am like a week behind on my blog posts. I go back 3 days all the time, but 6… well I will start at the present and do as much as I can remember.

I Took my sister to the airport today. She and my mother are meeting up in Las Vegas for a week. Seems like a long time to me since they are not exactly loaded, but I’m sure they will probably be having more fun than me this week.

I went over to Chris’ house after that for some free Brats…. mmmm brats, it was pretty much all Chris family, and me, but that was ok as I get along with them. After dinner everybody left except me and I went with Chris/Mindy to do some errand. Well on the way back we decided it was a good idea to make use of the Jeep and found a nice place to drive it off-road.

Now let me prerequisite this by saying I own a car that only has a few inches clearance between it and the ground. Hitting bumps in the road sucks, and I dare not drive over something as big as a curb for fear of scratching the entire underside of the car. So to be in a vehicle that can not only drive over the curb but drive down into a (in my opinion) huge ditch and drive back out without the car getting even a little fucked up, is something totally different for me.

Well the 3 of us all took turns driving. We found that these bumpy-ass fields went on for a long ways so we just kept driving, in hopes of coming out the other end on a city street in Sun Prarie.

The bumps we were going over were bouncing me around so much that I started laughing so hard that I could hardly keep my eyes open or even breath. Fortunatly that was when I was not driving. Well we came to a quick stop upon seeing a muddy stream directly in front of us. Which was to bad because we could see the buildings and streets of Sun Prarie a short ways past the stream. I am thinking we should find some big sturdy boards and make a little bridge over it, as kind of a fun alternative to driving down the construction filled highway.

At any rate I got to drive and I took it pretty fast, tried to whip around some corners etc.. There was this one spot with just a big circle and some dirt. Popped the Jeep into 2WD and I spun the vehicle in a big ass circle which was a lot of fun.

Now for everybody out there taking notes, THIS IS HOW YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO USE BIG ASS OFF-ROAD VEHICLES. I know to many mofo’s out there who drive a big ass vehicle that gets 9mpg and never actually use it for what it was intended for.

I guess that was the highlight of the day. I want to go to Devil’s Lake tomorrow (yes i do that a lot, so what) and go canoeing but it is supposed to have a 3 digit heat index tomorrow, so it’s doubtful.
