Ok, now that I have expressed my feeling right now about this situation let me explain.
My friend did me a solid by purchasing best processor and motherboard from Intel where he works. Then I paid him a bunch of extra money so he could ship it here (doesn’t weigh much, still cost $55 to ship here).
Then I have been wondering where the hell this package is, since it should have shown up by now. Hmm…
So I got a letter in the mail today telling me that customs was holding my package ransom, and would not release it until I paid them $125.00.
No, this is not a joke.
My friend declared the value of the package as $750 USD for insurance on it. I hadn’t even thought of this, I mean it’s none of their fucking business what I buy, if I am willing to pay outrageous shipping rates to get it here right?
Wrong.
Anything over $700 NZD ($533.19 USD) has to have GST tax paid for, and the taxes are outrageous.
It’s no wonder everything f’n costs so damn much here. I mean you think you are getting a deal when one US dollar ends up giving you 1.3 NZD and then you see that gas/petrol is less expensive here etc.. Well, you would be wrong.
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
Now I have to pay pretty much a week of rent to get my package free~!
THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
