Some people’s siblings!

So I get a call this morning to go fix a computer at my roommate’s shop. Of course he made a point to yell over the phone “AND YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HIT ON HER!!!!”. Well that’s a bunch of crap! I should charge him double.
Anyways I got there and go over to the (very cute) office girl’s desk. Proceeded to do a couple tests and figure out that DNS isn’t working but everything else does. So I put some good DNS numbers in and walah, no more internet problems. It took me under 2 minutes including the testing before and after.
So I really didn’t have enough time to hit on the girl anyways ;( I also was nice and since it only took me 2 minutes I only charged them $10 to be a nice guy. Hopefully they will have more problems in the future and will call me then so I will get more time to hit on the girl that I am not allowed to hit on.
I get home to an email saying something along the lines of “HELP I CAN?T FIND MY *expletive deleted*PHONE ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!”
So I gallop off on my trusty steed to go help my sister search for her phone using the ever so trusty “stand somewhere, and call the phone and hope you hear it” system. Well we did not find it but I was having a good time messing with her head (after she strong armed me into buying her lunch at Glass Nickel Pizza). After awhile we went back to her apartment and had eventually given up on the phone when my phone rang with her phone calling me. I picked up but got no answer. So I called back, oh I don’t know about 20 times. Then I started sending text messages to the phone offering a reward if returned, and pointing out that the phone would be deactivated in a few minutes.
The person who had found the phone obviously decided that the phone made a better paperweight to weigh down their guilty conscious, than a reward would make, and choose not to return it. My sister still had hope that they would return it so I loaned her my old phone and she activated that and was going to give them a day or two before she filed her insurance claim.
We were sitting around doing absolutely nothing, and I was not quite content with that so I decided to drag her to the new “Batman Begins” movie. Well good thing I did, it was the best Batman movie EVER. Even my sister was blown away by it. Hopefully they keep going with this storyline and this cast for future batman movies.
That got done and I decided to grill out again. So I told my sister she could come (of course when she shows up she wanted to make sure she was noticed so she dropped the phone I had loaned her on the ground, and proceeded to jump on it 20 or 30 times to make sure it was dead…. Ok perhaps that second part is an exaggeration, but I had a few to drink and it’s my blog so meh!). My friend Chris and his Wife also came. I had bought some more beer, and cooked up some brats, and once again had my mp3 player kicking out the jams. I almost had to slap Mindy when she insulted Ben Folds and called the music crap. I managed to calm myself down with another beer or 6.
Everybody eventually was cold and tired and so they left and I walked a good 20 feet to my neighbor’s driveway to sit around their fire and hang out with them. Normally they are full of good conversation at night, but their kids were all running around keeping them busy so there was not to much mirth to be had.
Still all in all it was another good day.
Bad Inet, no dessert for you…

It’s not that I am attached to the internet at the hip or anything. I mean that would be kind of akward trying to get around with all that information stuck to my hips ya know… However it is very frustrating to have it go “down on me” (in a not so good way), only a few days after it is up again.
To make the best of it I decided to go to devil’s lake again. I started climbing at this path along the railroad tracks. Directly after a roped off area that says “DANGER: DO NOT CLIMB HERE”. It seemed to be a challenging path, and I had never climbed that way before.

Of course I could not see anything with the bright sun so the picture I took you can not see the depth and difficulty of what I was climbing. I will however say that this was a crazy climb for somebody to do without ropes.
I was very proud when I made it to the top of this path, so I called my friend Dan (who was the first to get me hooked on climbing, but now lives to far away to go with me anymore) to gloat and give him shit for not being there.
On the way home I took the ferry. I like taking that way home because it gives me time to get out of my car and just enjoy the lake air etc… As I was enjoying the air I noticed a cute girl that came there in a Red Bull car. Must be a fun job, they get to drive around in a Mini Cooper talking to people and giving them free Red Bull.
I started talking to her and really hit it off. She was very nice and fun to talk to. However that made the trip across the water really short. The Ferry was coming to a hault and I did not have any business cards on me, nor did I have enough time to talk her phone number out of her. So I will chalk that one off as a “she’s probably just talking to me because it’s her job to talk to people”, and won’t think anything more of it unless I see her sometime in the future.
When I got home I decided it was SUCH a nice day out that I went to the store to buy a six pack of beer and I setup shop at the end of my driveway with a chair and some good music, and I put a couple burgers on the grill.
It was about 5 pm at this time, but as I said it was SO nice out that I stayed out until 10 pm! A couple of the neighbors came over to hang out and visit for awhile so that kept things interesting.
I hope all the days left of summer are like this.

Jessie #$^$#^ James

So you won’t believe me, in fact I don’t believe it myself so I’m sure nobody else will. However after leaving my cousin’s graduation party tonight I went back to madison through Johnson Creek. Tiny ass town off the interestate. Well as I was stopped waiting to turn right, I SWEAR that Jessie James drove by on a custom blue chopper. He even looked my way and waived. I actually didn’t waive because I was in shock deciding if that really was him. I don’t know who the other people with him were, and I am probably wrong that it was him in the first place, as
why would a famous motorcycle guy be driving through a piss ass town in wisconsin!
10+ reasons to give me shit.

So I decided that I actually like a song by the Backstreet Boys. Now in putting such heresy in my blog, I will surely see many repercussions. I actually went and downloaded, yes I am admitting to pirating music on the internet for this! I gave each song on the album a good fair and solid 3 skip around each song on the album and decide that it really was a fluke.
All of the songs on the album are garbage except the one song I had liked in the first place. So I actually deleted the entire album and did not archive it. The one song I actually like is called “Incomplete”.
Since I will already get shit for this post I decided to go through the 71 comp cd’s I have made since 1999 and tell you all the songs / artists that will make you look at me funny.
Hanson - Time of your Life album was pretty damn good… It didn’t sound at all like that little boy/girl mmmbop thing that they did.
Ricky Martin / Enrique Iglasias (sp?) - Ya know, that Latin shit is really catchy, and have you seen the women in those videos???
Josie & The Pussycats Soundtrack - Have you heard it???? It @#^%#@$^ owns!
Power Rangers Soundtrack - I found this in my collection from back in the day, but it has all sorts of great songs on it that you probably already like, but wouldn’t like if you knew they were on a power rangers soundtrack.
Christina Aguleria - That beautiful song was beautiful, though the video sucked… Seriously though this girl has a great voice
Brittney Spears - I know… she can’t sing, and there is no substance to her music, but I used to love her videos, and will admit to buying baby one more time after I saw that video of her in the school girl skirt. I couldn’t fine any of her music in my comps but I did find a punk band called “my gay uncle” that did a cover of baby one more time.
Ani DiFranco - I went to her concert once… I have never seen so many lesbians in my life!!!!! The music was good until she decided to do some long femi-nazi politcal bullshit.
Aqua - I had a couple of their songs on my comps… I think they got a bad rap since they are only known for that stupid barbie girl song…
Eiffel 65 - This actually surprised me… If I went back through that year 2000 comp cd I would scrap that, but I suppose it must of been cool at the time.
Taco - Puttin on the ritz. Tong is good enough for me to almost want to hear more of their music, well I did say almost… It’s probably like my worst cd purchase to date: White Town, they had one good song and one REALLY shitty cd to put it on.
Scatman John - I think this was from the same time as Taco, but this one I actually did get his cd, and yes… it sucks… oh well
The rest of the stuff which there are 1,162 songs between those 71 comp cd’s I have made, I think are pretty respectable. Don’t believe me? Check out the comp cd list.
Isn’t that special….

I suppose I have always been healthy. Even most of my times that I missed school as a kid I was not sick. Of course that was the school’s fault since if you were late for class you got a detention, but if you were sick there was no action taken at all…
So when I get a call from a doctor saying “you are developing gout”. Well this does not make me feel warm in fuzzy inside, but I suppose will be a good excuse to get healthier…
..::sigh::.. I suppose, I should go off and exercise and eat a salad or something….
(ok perhaps that salad thing is taking it to far…)
I got a shoutout from mania tv!
Wednesday, June 8th, 2005 | Uncategorized | 1 Comment
It was kind of cool, their broadcast is definitely live, they said they would give a shoutout to everybody in their chatroom. So I went into their chatroom, and not only did CJ Erin say “thesmartass” but then she said, no that can’t be… I’m thesmartass!!!! I thought that was really slick, and fitting since I just upgraded the maniatv stream on my website from 300k to 500k, meaning there is now very good quality audio/video streaming by default. This does require a nice broadband connection, but that’s cool with me :)
Also I am the number one result on google for “thesmartass” so you can type thesmartass and click i’m feeling lucky and it will go straight to this page, but that wasn’t quite cool enough so I found a guy who made a google protocol. Basically on my address bar i can now type lucky:thesmartass and it will load my website.
If you would like to have google: and lucky: registered as browser protocol’s go to this website: http://douweosinga.com/projects/googleprotocol
