New series

Monday, April 18th, 2005 | Uncategorized | No Comments

So I talked to an old friend I have not talked to in a long time. Told him I had grown interested in Anime again. He reccomended a series called Samurai Champloo. So I went and downloaded 8 episodes that were released with Dual Audio (meaning I can listen to them in english.)

It is Fantastic…. It is made by the same people who make Cowboy Bebop. Which is one of the greatest anime series ever… However after I finished the 8 episodes I wanted more. Well it’s a 26 episode series, 17 of them were released in Japan, and 8 in America. So I decided to go to animeondvd.com and find out when the next episodes would be released.

Wow, now I remember what it was like before torrents were invented and you pretty much had to wait forever for new episodes to come out domestically. Next four episodes come out 5/31, then four more on 7/31. There were no more on the release list yet, but we can probably assume that this series won’t be done till next year!!!!!!

Bah, what a crock of shit, so now I will probably end up watching the rest of the episodes in Japanese with subtitles. It’s not that I have a problem with doing that, but when i start a series It is nice to stay consistent. Take Berserk for example. I watched this series a million times in Japanese, then one time I tried to watch it in English to show a friend that didn’t want to screw with the subtitles. The badass main character does sound evil or mean anymore like he did in the Japanese and it did not seem right.

Same thing happened with Cowboy Bebop. I watched the entire series in English, and then I wanted to watch the movie, which wasn’t slated for American release for a Long time. So I watched that in Japanese and it was just kinda strange, like it was different characters or something.

Oh well, there are worse things in the world to have a problem with than this.

3 days at a time

Sunday, April 17th, 2005 | Uncategorized | No Comments

Yeah so occasionally I don’t feel like writing in this blog, but I have decided I have a good memory, so I will just fill in most of the days I miss… eventually. So if I ignore this for a few days and then there are a few new posts all at once then it is all good with me.

Hey, it’s my damn journal… I only write in it so that I will be able to look back and go, oh yeah… that’s what I wasted my time doing in my mid 20’s….

Hmm, as for today I did; Nothing, followed by a little bit more nothing, and finished it off with a hottub to relax from such a hard day!

WTF is this stuck in my head for….

I told the witchdoctor, I was in love with you
I told the witchdoctor, I was in love with you
And than the witchdoctor, he told me what to do

ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang
ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang

You been keeping love from me just like you were a miser
And I’ll admit I wasn’t very smart
So I went out to find myself a guy that’s so much wiser
And he taught me the way to win your heart

My friend the witchdoctor, he taught me what to say
My friend the witchdoctor, he taught me what to do
I know that you’ll be mine when I say this to you

ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang

Weekly Event

Ever since my sister has moved to Madison I seem to have fallen into a Friday afternoon pattern. On Friday I take my “external terabyte” hard drive over to my sisters and I collect the files that she has downloaded…

Well that is a good a way to put it as any, I mean I pretty much got annoyed at the piss poor speed of my cable internet connection, and she who has the same company and is just in a different area gets great speed and I SHIT…. Anyways I put that logic to work and instead of me downloading everything at shit rates, I decided to increase my download speed 10 fold by having her computer download 2/3 of my download list ; ) …

I know, it’s a good plan, after reading this I’m sure you will all be farming out your downloads to your siblings as well. I mean it’s not completely one sided, she normally wants at least half the stuff I download for herself, and I let her copy any of the stuff off my fat ass hard drive while it is hooked up to her computer for free ; )

That’s about all I got, Paul hasn’t been home tonight so it has been peaceful, he was home last night because another one of his bar leagues was finished ;(

Oh yeah, I need to figure out what the hell I am going to do to get to the wedding in Texas on May 5th pretty soon. After researching airlines it will cost me 278 for a round trip ticket unless I want to drive to Chicago first. So I decided even with my car drinking premium I would probably do better just to drive. Now I just need to figure out if I am driving alone and staying at my moms in Louisiana for a couple days, or if I can get somebody else to come with me… If I do that it will be SO much easier to switch off the driving, significantly less boring too, but then I would need them to pay for a hotel and the trip would be shorter since I would not be staying at my mom’s for a couple days… I’ll figure it out.

Anime again

Thursday, April 14th, 2005 | Uncategorized | No Comments

There was a few years where I had thought that I had grown out of Japanese Anime. However I was wrong, I like it, I simply did not have the time to waste watching it. However I have had lots of time this year and have really gotten back into it. I am even considering resurecting AnimeSins, I have a beautiful concept for how to design the page that would really give me an artistic edge to it.

I probably won’t actually do it, because I am a lazy bastard and already have a long enough website to do list. Anyways best anime I have watched recently is called Naruto. The series is not finished yet, so every week you can download a new episode. You can get every single episode (currently there are 130 episodes) at Naruto Chaos. You will need to understand what a Torrent file is, but honestly there is no better file sharing method on the internet today than a Torrent.. So if you don’t know what one is, search google for “bit torrent information”

Good Stuff.

Good TV and no Paul (no more)

I went to Fort Atkinson today. Not because I wanted to visit, but because I had to. I am in a couple weddings in May, one in Texas and the Other in Fort… So I had to go to fort to get sized for my tux, since it is a ‘local’ store… the wedding in texas I just had to go somewhere in Madison since it was a national chain.

Anyways that took all of 10 mins, stopped in and visited a friend and left town… stopping at Culvers, but only because their flavor of the day was Boston Cream…. Which I had once a couple years ago and it was Amazing… Also I don’t normally go to Fort via Cambridge so I don’t normally pass the Culvers, so it must of been a sign, and yes it was good ; )

Got home to watch some TV, most of my favorite shows are on Wednesdays and all right in a row… Smallville, Alias, Eyes (new show, but I like it). See today was a normal Wednesday I suppose, but sadly it won’t last. My roomate is normally gone, every wednesday night for Bowling. However league is done.

Not to mention his tuesday and thursday activities are gone as well… It means he will be home virtually every night so I need to start coming up with more reasons to leave the house. I really don’t find going out drinking that appealing or else I could find people willing to do that almost every night. Oh well, shit happens… I’ll figure it out.

Goo

Damn Skippy, I mean really, can she really be THAT hot?! So yeah today I got some extra satellite channels… Hell, I am not even stealing them (this time), dish just fucked up or something, but in browsing the extra channels I notice one of my favorite movie’s on….

“The Girl Next Door”

Now, if you have never seen it then I ask WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?

I mean that is the most attractive girl ever, and the way she is portrayed in that movie she is stunning in every single on screen frame. When I watched this movie in the theater I was with my sister. At one point the guy gets to kiss her in front of all the people from his high school. I made a comment to my sister later that I wish I could of kissed that girl in front of my high school. To which she replied “hell, I would of kissed that girl in front of my high school”, which goes to show how completely gorgeous Elisha Cuthbert is.

Now I watched in once, and then later my roommate came home and turned it on… And I seriously could not help watching it again…. I know, that’s crazy.. By now that girl’s image is burned into my retina’s…. but wtf ya know…

Anyways the movie is almost cruel just in the fact that watching it makes you realize how much there is in this world that you will never be able to have.

Religion…

Monday, April 11th, 2005 | Uncategorized | No Comments

Religion: A framework of beliefs relating to supernatural or superhuman beings or forces that transcend the everyday material world.

There are a bunch of fools in the desert with nothing else to do, so they invented me and they invented you - Randy Neuman (sung by god)

The whole religious complexion of the modern world is due to the absence, from Jerusalem, of a lunatic asylum. - Havelock Ellis

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - Epicurus

God must grow weary of being called to on both sides of a war. - Epicurus

So far as I can remember there’s not one word in the Gospels in praise of intelligence - Bertrand Russel

List of bullshit injuries…

Monday, April 11th, 2005 | Uncategorized | No Comments

So I decided I am not going to get injured anymore, at least not for another couple weeks. But to do that I thought I would write down all the bullshit stupid injuries I have gotten in the past few days.

Bee sting (aka gored by a rhino), skinned spot on arm, stiff neck (can’t turn it even 90 degrees to the left), fat bloody lip, left foot twisted ankle, soldiering iron burn (from a soldiering iron that “can’t burn you”), right foot twisted ankle (separate occasion, not as bad as left).

I think that’s it, but that has all happened within the last week! Not to mention every one of them could of been avoided and happened in completely stupid ways! It’s a bad streak, and I plan to break it… no more injuries damn it!

Good Times

Windows go up, or is it down?

Sunday, April 10th, 2005 | Uncategorized | No Comments

So today was the day to tear off the door panels and attempt to fix the window motor on my car. See what has been happening is when you push any window button on the drivers side all the windows and the sun roof open. Then when you exit the car and arm the security system, the windows roll down somewhat, and occasionally wait till you are away from the car to roll down. Now they are supposed to roll up and stay closed when you arm the car, but what fun would life be if things did what they were supposed to…

My buddy had brought over his dremel, so we proceeded to widen the holes in the car frame that the wires run through (since they were to tight and the wires cut themselves everytime the door closed). Then I snake some split tubing through the wider holes to prevent the wires from getting cut. Man it would of been nice to be a 3′ tall Japanese midget with tiny hands while trying to snake that cabeling through…..

Anyways my friend left and I had to rerun new wires and soldier them. Yeah! This gives me a chance to use my new “cold heat” soldiering iron, that runs on batteries and instantly heats up hot enough to melt soldier. It worked pretty well, but not as well as advertised. I mean you still need to have soldiering skills, they pitched it that you just touch it and instantly your wires and soldier are bonded together, but that’s not true, you still have to hold it there for awhile to get the soldier to absorb.

Anyways I test the windows and they work perfectly so I reassemble the car… heh, well now the doors don’t unlock when the car turns off, or unlock when you disarm the security system. Not sure how that happened, will have to research what wires do what, there had been an extra wire but it was from a window modulator, and I was 95% sure it was a ground, so that’s what I did…

All in all I am glad my windows work again, you don’t know how frustrating it is to walk away from you car and come back to see the windows and sun roof completely open after you know they were closed when you left.
